One year ago we got this Pinus sylvestris from Jacek Rostkowski in Poland and made a youtube video of the styling of it. We set the bones for the future.
Een jaar geleden kregen we deze Pinus sylvestris binnen van Jacek Rostkowski uit Polen en maakten een youtube video over de styling. We hadden de structuur of skelet gezet voor de toekomst.
Around August or september we unwired the tree because the wire started to biting in and this means fixation. Last week it was time ago for a cut back to compact the tree a little more and shari was made to create more movement in the trunk. Many new buds where made in the interior of the sylvestris, needle size was reduced and next spring we can repot the tree in it’s first training pot.

Rond augustus of september hebben we de boom ontdraad omdat deze in aan het groeien was, dit betekent fixatie. Vorige week was het tijd om de boom terug in te snoeien en te bedraden om deze nog wat compacter te maken en shari wer gemaakt om meer beweging in de stam te geven. Veel nieuwe knoppen hebben zich gevormd binnen in de boom en de naald grote was ook mooi gereduceerd. Volgende lente is de boom klaar voor zijn eerste trainingspot.

I also came in contact with Julius Kuyper a dutch cinomatograph. We started a project called The Bonsai Academy. I noticed people always doubt which techniques you have to do in which month of the year so that’s why this project is born. We are now very busy to create beautiful content for you guys.

Ook kwam ik in contact met Julius Kuyper een Nederlandse cinematograaf . Samen zijn we het project The Bonsai Academy opgestart. Ik merkte op dat veel mensen twijfelen welke technieken ze op welk jaargetijde moeten toepassen. Daarom dat dit project is geboren, we zijn nu druk bezig om prachtige content voor jullie te creëren.

Before and after of this Kishu juniper from Japan. A tree that had some issues with it’s health before importing to europe, regained it’s strenght and in need of a not so traditional design that needs more growth in future. This beautiful tree full of character we styled for an issue of @the_bonsai_academy with @juliusk008. Where we will talk about the design idea of this tree. The idea came from a trip with @robertpressler were we visited Big Sur and where I lost my heart seeing the Monterey cipres. As wel ass the junipers that are growing in the wild in Taiwan. Next spring we can think about a pot and after some growth and more mochi komi this Kishu will be a stunner in its size.
Voor en na van deze Kishu jeneverbes uit Japan. Een boom die wat gezondheids issues had voor deze geimporteerd werd naar Europa, zijn kracht terug kreeg en een niet zo traditioneel ontwerp nodig had, nu na vomrgeving zijn de bones/structuur gezet en heeft de boom nog meer groei nodig. Deze prachtige juniperus vol karakter hebben we gevormd voor een shoot met Julius Kuyper voor The Bonsai Academy. Waar we praten over het design idee van de boom. Het idee kwam toen ik met Robert Pressler Big Sur bezocht waar ik mijn hart verloor na het zien van de Monterey cypress. Een ontwerp net zoals juniperussen in het wild in Taiwan groeien. Volgende lente kunnen we denken aan een nieuwe pot en na goede groei en meer mochi komi zat dit een topper in zijn formaat worden.
And last but not leat this Nothofagus which we styled in a natural style. we made a first branch selection and wired everything out. Now the tree can grow free where it needs more thickness.
En Last but not least deze nothofagus die we hebben gevormd in de natural style. We hebben een eerste tak selectie gemaakt en hebben alles uitbedraad. Nu kan de boom groeien waar deze dikte nodig heeft.
